Whirlwind Kennels is located in northern Alberta. We are one of the only kennels in Canada that has true working sled dogs that also excel in the show ring.
Whirlwind Kennels is a proud part of Whirlwind Acres Sled & Show Dogs. A Small Family owned and operated sled & show dog kennel. Whirlwind Acres Sled Dog Tours specializes in affordable tours, group bookings and community events. We believe anyone should be able to experience the joy and thrill of purebred sled dogs. You might have even met some of our dogs at different community events around western Canada, as we host meet and greet events that allow the general public to come and interact with the dogs and ask questions, along with Sled dog rides. All our dogs are friendly this is a trait we look for in selecting breeding partners for our dogs.
We pride ourselves on producing dogs that can excel in almost any discipline and be a dog you can live with. High drive working dogs with correct structure and a temperament you'll love.
All our breeding dogs have proven their benefit to the breed, weather that is by showing in conformation rings, running sleds, or performance events, or all 3. All our parent dogs have been evaluated to confirm that they have something to offer the breed. We also do Genetic health screening to confirm our parent dogs do not have genetic ailments that they could pass on to their kids, we do a minimum of OFA eyes and hips.
