October brought the changing of the seasons, cool air meant fall training could start. Joining the teams for the first time was Valkyrie and Ulu, both showed amazing promise in their first few runs.
With fall training underway, and preparations for the Camrose show underway was well all seemed to be going well. When Jett suddenly fell ill. He was running on the teams having gone 20km, ate supper and was happy go lucky self. the next morning he was unsteady and would eat, we rushed him to the emergency vet. it was determined he had a prostate infection and required intravenous fluids and antibiotics, when we brought him home they where unsure if he would make it though the night.
well Jett has the heart of a fighter and Dawn spent days making sure he got fluids every 30 minutes to and hour and by the time the Camrose dog show came around 2 weeks later Jett was cleared to participate in the show, doing something he truly loves to do.
At the Camrose show it was a crazy whirlwind of a time. Jett got Cleared to participate on the Friday, sadly it was after the show. so on Friday he was a sad boy watching the others go into the rings, he was so happy Saturday and Sunday.
SO how did the show actully go?
Thursday night we arrived and set up and got to compete in sweeps with Maverick. He took first in his class.
Then we ran the dogs to get there kinks out. 12km run that started off kinda interesting but finished amazingly.
